Le Chateau – A Home Away From Home

Le Chateau – A Home Away From Home

Its no secret that i’m a huge fan of staycation. Spending a night away is just perfect when you’re in need of escaping from real life world madness and a hectic schedule, even if it is just a stone throw away from home. A couple of months ago Le Chateau welcomed me and Sean in to starfish one of there delightful double beds and enjoy the facilities their deluxe en-suite has to offer. A cup of tea in hand and a handful of chocolate chip cookies, we felt right at home.

Located in the quiet village of Cadnam, this family run hotel has recently been refurbished and it was super exciting to see its makeover. Fun fact, this building is a glorious 120 years old! Being only a short drive from the ever popular Paultons family Theme park, as well as the lovely villages of Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst, what better way to crash after a busy day or long drive home than to put your feet up and unwind at this welcoming bed and breakfast. The boutique styled rooms were decorated beautifully and offer great amenities such as TVs, personal coffee machines and touch lighting. Im a sucker for a modern, aesthetically pleasing bathroom, and did our room have one of those? Check.

The restaurant was surprising empty which i can only think must come down to lack of awareness because whats not to like? Being the fussiest eater on the planet I was worried about what I was going to order, BUT, hold up, whats that on the menu I see? Halloumi. Sorted. Heaven on a plate. With a tomato dip. Boy did it hit the spot. Sean chose the Chicken Caesar. The healthier option. Which went down a treat for sure. Next up, mains. The juicy beef burger was calling my name. Oh oh oh, served with THE BEST FRIES EVER. Where’s the recipe please chef? When writing this I asked Sean his thoughts on his dish which was pan fried duck breast served with crispy saute potatoes and a bowl of fresh assorted vegetables. I wont quote word to word with his response, does anybody else’s boyfriend result in swearing when describing something they thoroughly enjoyed? Or even every other word that comes out there mouth. But anyhow he thought it tasted ‘sensational’. I just about made room for dessert. I mean, who could turn down a creamy vanilla Panna Cotta with fresh, sweet berries? A girl has to eat. It did taste as good as it sounds incase you were wondering. For a pair of anti dessert eaters, we were in awe. Since our visit, Sean wont stop reminiscing over his Chocolate Cappuccino Mouse, again i ask, wheres the recipe chef? Another fun fact, all food served at Le Chateau is home made, right down to the mayonnaise.

Whats a night away without a couple of drinks in the lounge/bar? Wine in hand, a full, extremely satisfied  belly, what more could a girl want? I was ready to slip into my pjs and dream about awakening the following day to munch on sausages eggs and bacon with a refreshing glass of orange juice ready to take on the day.

There are a few hidden gems around Hampshire, and I believe I have found one of them. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet to stay away from the hustle and bustle and tuck yourself in for a good nights sleep, Le Chateau brings the comforts of home, to you.

Till next time,
