Lush after dark

Lush after dark

Ok ok ok, even though I don’t have a bath (sad face) it’s still never stopped me from being a lushie…Btw lushie is the word I have decided to use to describe all of you fellow lush lovers out there, yes. you. But to be honest when I fancy using a good old bath bomb this is when having a boyfriend with a big bath comes in handy.

I have been lucky enough to attend a few events the Southampton Lush store were holding, so it was fab to have the chance to take a peak of what’s going on down in Bournemouth.

As we entered the store, guess what we were greeted with? Prosecco. Yep. We all can’t resist a glass, or in this case, a pot of prosecco… yanno the ones they use in store for the majority of there products? Which reminds me, if you collect 5 empty black pots, head down to your nearest store, and they will trade them in for a face mask! We all love a face mask.

Anyway, we all gathered round for a welcome speech and for an explanation of what was in store for us during the evening. We started of with an icebreaker challenge. I gotta admit when someone mentions the word icebreaker my heart sinks and I suddenly go into panic mode (the painful reality of social anxiety) but hey ho this was actually a fun activity, thank you Lush! It was time to pair up and play a ‘get to know each other’ game whilst giving one another arm massages. I was so happy to look to my side to see my lovely blogger friend Nic, so I took the opportunity to grab her as my partner. As Nic is more of a Lush expert I let her pick which massage bar we were going to use and she went for Each Peach, Lime and Cocoa Butter, what a yummy choice. Even though we were meant to be spending our time asking each other questions, I think we spent the majority of our time discussing the struggle of having hairy arms? To shave? Or not to shave? Girl problems hey.

In-between mingling with other bloggers and exploring the new Christmas range, the staff were always nearby if I needed a helping hand and were honestly just so friendly and polite. Don’t you just love that? Walking into a store and the staff are so welcoming and will go the extra mile for their customers. Just can’t stand those pushy and in your face kinda staff! But that’s not the case here.

Next up, it was time make our own Shoot For The Stars bath bomb and get our hands dirty, well, not literally as we were given gloves to wear, hygiene and all that! I seem to take about 20 minutes to get just one on, do my hands really get THAT sweaty? Can anyone relate? Once I had stopped flapping around with the gloves it was show time! I actually quite surprised myself with how well I managed to do it, but the final result didn’t look half as good as the ones in store on display. But I do think it’s about time I use my creation!

We also got the chance to make the Buche De Noel facial cleanser in groups which is a Christmas exclusive product. Jam packed with a bunch of festive ingredients such as cranberries, mandarins, and a drop of toning brandy! Definitely feeling the Christmas spirit ey! I think this would come in handy when my skin turns all dry and dull throughout the winter seeing as it’s also full of cocoa butter and kaolin. Yum! Do you ever just want to eat everything at lush?

Incase you didn’t already know, Lush offer free in store consultations, wether that’s for skin care, make up, or hair, that way you can get a more personal experience and find out what products you should be using! During the event I was approached by a lovely lady who asked me about my hair, and ergh , don’t get me started! I feel like I have the most difficult hair in the world. The top of my mop tends to get greasy within a day of washing, or even the day OF washing. Yuck. Whereas the other end of my hair is a complete fuzz ball and is so hard to tame. I wouldn’t be lying if I told you I get stressed out. I was offered a consultation so I obviously jumped at the opportunity. Unfortunately we only got round to trying two of the products as we ran out of time, but I still found the experience informative and I was super relaxed, ohhhhhh it just feels so great to be pampered, don’t you think? I’m definitely going to head down to my local Southampton store and ask for a full hair consultation, boy I need it.

To end the evening, we were able to pick out an extra gift to give to our partners at the beginning, we were definitely spoilt! Nic chose the Rose Jam Bubbleroon for me. Yep. You read that right. It’s inspired by actual macaroons! It has an intoxicating lemon-rose perfume. This is perfect for soothing dry, sensitive skin, which sums me up in a nutshell. “The rosy fragrance paired with the dreamy shea butter icing that sticks the two halves of this bubbleroon together makes for two majorly moisturising, softening and luxurious soaks”. Doesn’t that just sound like heaven? Get me in the bath now!

All night I had my eyes on one of there new Christmas products. The candy cane. Which meant I had to treat myself to it. I think I’m going to save that for closer to Christmas.

As we left the store, we were each sprinkled by a body spray of our choice, I went for Snow Fairy, why wouldn’t I want to feel like a little pixie floating around smelling like bubblegum? “You know what they say, a spray of Snow Fairy a day keeps the grumps and bad moods away” well in that case I’ll take 10 please.

I really enjoyed this event. Thank you so much to Lush Bournemouth for having us! And also Emma from Bournemouth bloggers for bringing me along.

Also, please check out the blog of my lovely friend Nic, https://atwentysomethinglesbian.com/ who’s an ultimate lushie!
